It is not enough to attend church services, rather we must listen to the Word of God and allow His word to penetrate deep down into our hearts.
I use to wonder why Judas Iscariot allowed the devil to enter into him despite being so close to the Master. Jesus even
called Judas ‘friend’ that is to show the level of their closeness.
At times, I asked myself if Jesus deliberately chose Judas but then I realised the prophecy must be fulfilled and someone must be used.
Jesus said this 👉 according to John 13:21(KJV) ‘…..Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me’
In John 13:26(KJV) ‘…He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it….’
Vs 27 ‘Then after the sop Satan entered into him(Judas)…’
Hah! Judas why did you allow yourself to be used of the devil?
Why didn’t you reject the sop and plead for mercy when the Master said one of you shall betray me?
Jesus went ahead and stated that the person in whom He gives the sop to after dipping it and yet Judas was still stiff-necked.
Unfortunately, the cares of this world had occupied his mind, little wonder Judas said this:👇
‘Then saith one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray Him. Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was out therein’ (Matthew 26:9 KJV).
His mind was occupied with the thought of money, how he knew the cost of the ointment keeps me wondering where and how he made his research.
1st Timothy 6:10 ‘For the love of money is the root of all evil…’
Judas was careless to the point of allowing the devil to take advantage of his occupied mind.
Proverbs 23:7 ‘For as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is…‘
The devil knew his heart was preoccupied with the affairs of this life despite being with the Master and even eating from the Master’s dish.
However, despite the warnings in Matthew 26:24 ‘…but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man be betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had not been born’, Judas you would have saved yourself if only you repented right there and asked for the Master’s forgiveness. Rather, he willfully sinned against His Master, he deliberately hardened his heart.
Willful sin means telling God to do His worst because you don’t care.
I know the scriptures must be fulfilled but I pray that evil prophecy will not be fulfilled in my life and your live in Jesus name.
If you are still adamant and you deliberately and willfully sin against God, it is better you repent now that you still have the privilege for tomorrow may be too late.
However, if you are already born again, then there is need to hold fast that which you have; you must carefully and cautiously guard your salvation so that the devil won’t take it away. When you go to church, let people see it in the life that you live; live a godly life.
I pray it will not be too late for you to make the right choice in Jesus name.
